About Femme Finance

Too many women in the UK are walking towards retirement without nearly enough in the pot. Not because they're bad with money. Because the system wasn't designed with their careers in mind: the breaks, the part-time years, the pay gaps, the confidence gap nobody talks about.

Nearly half of women (48%) say they lack confidence managing their finances. One in three has no savings at all. Women's pensions are 35% lower than men's on average. And only 17% of women feel confident about achieving their long-term financial goals.

That's why I built this.

Who I am

I'm Esther: a change management consultant, director of two Limited Companies, and property investor. In 2018, when my eldest daughter was 13 months old, I quit my corporate job. I couldn't make the nursery pick-ups from the city. Nobody else had kids, nobody got it. So one day I just quit.

A month later I landed my first contracting job, and I haven't looked back. Over the years I've built a consulting career, navigated the steep learning curve of running limited companies, and built a property portfolio, all while figuring out pensions, VAT, year-end accounts, and how to actually invest rather than just earn and spend.

I didn't start out knowing any of this. For years I left the money side of things to someone else. Slowly, I taught myself. And now I want to make it easier for other women to do the same, faster, with less confusion and more confidence.
